Conservatorium of Music
Sydney, NSW

The iconic 1915 Conservatorium of Music located in Sydney was built over the the early settlers Tank stream.  The Heritage listing offered many challenges for all the disciplines.

It is a mutli-leveled building housing many tuition and performance rooms. The dispersion of rooms resulted in equipment interfacing and control being diseminated throughout the facility. This posed the chanellenge of a proving a solution of optimum network, controller and device configuration with the option of in built future expansion and possible re-configuration.

DAC secured the tender to retro-fit an out of date failing DDC system in the SceintiaBuilding.  BACnet was a mandatory requirement of the University.  DAC will install a BACnet system and provide the 320 objects onto the Universities WAN for integration into third party software.

This project was complicated by the structure and age of the building, the distribution of major plant and the fact that that the building was fully tenanted and functioning.  To compound this, information of the old system was difficult to source and unreliable.
